Extended aeration system is a process which operated in combination of aerobic and anaerobic condition. The sequence of process was shown below.
Fine Bubble Diffuser Air Extended Aeration System (EA)
The advantage of this process is having long hydraulic retention time which allow process to operate effectively over widely varying flow and waste loadings. In EA system, sewage will be undergo screening process for removal of debris, grit and grease. After screening process, the sewage will flow in anoxic tank with sufficient mixing to breakdown biodegradable organic matter without oxygen supply. Biodegradable organic matter and non-biodegradable organic matter (inorganic matter) are decomposed by bacterial in aeration tank with oxygen supply generate by mechanical equipment. Finally, the treated effluent which follow Environmental Quality Act 1974 standard B are discharge to downstream river.
